Miles 33 Press Release
September 2018, Bracknell, UK – Miles 33 is proud to announce that Localsearch, an Australian Directory publishing company, has selected DIP from Miles 33 to automate the production of their 36 yellow page directories and other related telephone books.
Miles 33 has installed its DIP (Directory Interactive Pagination) system to automate the process of creating “ready-to-print” directories.
Prior to the installation of the new system, multiple Localsearch staff would spend days, if not weeks, producing a single directory. Just preparing the index, a listing of classifications, headings and cross references, typically took a full day.
The new system has reduced production time down to a few hours, from start to finish.
Once all raw input has been received, the DIP pagination software production process kicks off and starts assembling pages according to a series of rules that govern the process. At a blistering speed – up to 200 pages per hour! This dramatically shortens the amount of time previously required to complete the publications.
The completed pages include the full index of categories, headings, all the cross-references and fillers, where necessary.
The DIP software provides a unique balance between automatic (batch) and interactive (place/drag any ad or listing manually) pagination.
The installation of DIP at Localsearch was carried out remotely, by Miles 33 staff located in US. Training was carried out on site and users were up and running, producing their own books within 2 weeks.
David Holihan, Localsearch’s Chief Project Officer, said “DIP has proven to be excellent for our operation. Already it is creating real benefits for us, not just time savings, but also improved quality and consistency”.
