Miles 33 to debut HTML5 client at World Publishing Expo 2013

October 2013, Bracknell, Berkshire, UK – Miles 33 will be introducing GNi4, a new generation mobile editorial client, at World Publishing EXPO 2013 in Berlin.

GNi4 is an HTML5-based mobile client with responsive design for newsroom staff and provides access to the GN4 editorial and TARK4 archive databases.

GNi4 extends the options available to newsroom staff in how they access the main GN4 system. Browser access was already available through GNPortal, while GNXcapture provides access via smartphone. Now GNi4 optimises that access to tablet environments. The Responsive Design user interface adjusts itself not only to the orientation of the device used, but also to the various screen sizes and aspect ratios available, whether an iPad, iPad mini or Google Nexus 7.

Users can access all areas of the system they have approved access to; images, video, audio, articles, wire, archives and even print edition status. Content can be searched, retrieved, opened and edited, based on user privileges.

The user's workspace is customisable and multiple workspaces can be saved into a tabbed view. Queries and searches can be saved in a similar manner allowing users to create workspaces for accessing wire, searching archives or day-to-day writing.

Search results can be presented in multiple views such as lists, or with thumbnails and content can be previewed before opening and during creation.

All typical functions such as sending, invoking workflows and metadata updates are available as is authoring and uploading of content captured outside the system, such as video or audio.

Remote users and newsroom chiefs of staff can also collaborate directly through the tasks and events function. Assignments can be sent to remote staff and acted upon by users when on the road, whether they use GNi4 or, the smartphone-based, GNXcapture.

Miles 33 will be located at Stand # 3.2.201 and demonstrations can be pre-booked at:
