Miles 33 releases version 2 of the GN4 Editorial Content Management System

December 10, 2013 - Miles 33 is proud to announce the general release of Version 2 of the GN4 Editorial Content Management Suite of software, marking a new milestone for the highly acclaimed software suite

Designed for the multi-channel newsroom, GN4 is already used by thousands of users around the world. The most recent sites that have taken GN4 into live use include: The Dominion Post in West Virginia, USA, The Brunei Times, in Brunei, Kompas in Indonesia, DC Thomson in the UK and Provincia di Cremona in Italy, illustrating the global appeal of this content management system.

Version 2 builds upon the modern, web-enabled infrastructure and rich feature set of the current V1.6. Some of the new features include:

A new, responsive, HTML5-based web client called GNi4. Bringing visual elegance and responsive design into the fold, GNi4 can be used with browsers and tablets to log into a GN4 system. GNi4 offers extensive control over authoring, editing and searching of multi media content.
A choice of search engines, including Exalead and Microsoft's SQL Search. Either search engine can be deployed for full-text indexing of any content type and metadata.
Full support for the latest Microsoft Framework 4.5, Microsoft Foundation Classes 11 and Microsoft C Run-Time Libraries 11, ensuring that GN4 remains closely aligned with the latest technologies and IT infrastructures.
Other new features include enhanced ClickOnce deployment options, enhanced table editing and improvements in keyword management.
