Miles 33 Launches Version 4.0 of its Ad Management Software

Speed, Efficiency, Digital Ad Building and Customer Proofing Portal Included.

Miles 33 is now installing version 4.0 of its Production Tracking and Ad Management software, adding significant new features and benefits for both the newspaper and yellow page market places, including:

  • New customer proofing portal, with sales access
  • Fireworks support for digital ad building
  • New, efficient proofreading tools
  • A new "instructional component" for ad jackets and copy sheets
  • Numerous new customizable screen designs that streamline user efficiency
  • Enhanced performance, so productivity increases

New screen designs and search parameters allow users to customize their own working view, speeding the assignment of and searching for new work. A new deadline parameter has been introduced to the product that allows work to be sorted and searched for by the most urgent jobs first. Deadlines also drive the new customer proofing website with regard to e-proof turnaround time.

A new component type, "instructional component", can now be included in the electronic ad jacket to easily view copy sheets, layout sketches, scanned orders, etc. to ensure the artist has the best possible creative direction.

Overall performance and response time for opening ad details has been dramatically improved by selectively bringing preview and audit data to the screen as needed.

In addition to version control, Miles 33 now offers an optional snap-shot capability to capture every creative step through an ad’s life cycle, allowing artists to easily revert back to an earlier incarnation of the ad whenever required.

New proofreading workflow tools allow a reader to review an ad, annotate with specific comments, reject the ad back to the artist for further corrections, raise queries on the ad to be resolved by the sales team and/or customer service, and send the ad out for e-proofing or paper proofing . . . a powerful workflow that streamlines both in-house and customer proofing.

A new customer proofing portal has been added to improve the timeliness and effectiveness of the customer proofing and approvals process. When an ad is ready for eProof, an email is automatically dispatched to the customer containing a link to the eProof website, where the customer will review the ad.

Once logged into the eProof website, the customer has the ability to view new ads, ads previously viewed but not yet past deadline, and also historical ads; the same annotation tools provided with the in-house proofreading module are also offered on the eProof website. eProof deadlines control the time period in which a customer is allowed to comment on their ads. The customer can mark specific corrections, as well as provide general feedback. If the ad is fine, the customer can ‘approve’ the ad via the eProof website and an approved status will automatically be recorded in the ad management system, eliminating the need for any further artist intervention. As a companion to eProof, the Sales Rep Portal provides access for Sales Reps to monitor the status of and electronically view ads created for their customers. When an electronic proof is made available to a customer, the sales rep is also notified of this event via email.

And finally, Miles has added Fireworks to its list of supported third-party applications for ad makeup, allowing digital bookings to your website to take advantage of all of the same workflow and tracking benefits of Production Tracking.

New PCI DSS compliancy rules

'PCI DSS' credit card and debit card standards changed again this year. The new global standards are complex and require merchants to achieve the standard to avoid heavy fines and transition of risk from the banks to the merchants.

What is PCI DSS?

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a worldwide information security standard assembled by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC).

The standard was created to help organizations that process card payments prevent credit card fraud through increased controls around data and its exposure to compromise. The standard applies to all organizations which hold, process, or pass cardholder information from any card branded with the logo of one of the card brands.

Brazil has one of the few economies in the world that has been growing steadily these past few years. Its free market and export-oriented economy makes it the second largest economy in the Americas (after the US) and eighth largest in the world. It has sophisticated technology and is a pioneer in many fields.

With ever increasing educational achievements, it is no surprise their appetite for news and information is on the rise and that is good news for the Brazilian newspaper industry, which is enjoying significant growth - and many publishers are managing that growth with technology from Miles 33.
