NORWALK, CT, August 12^th, 2009—On the heals of its installation at yellow page publishing giant Local Insight Media, Miles 33 has been on a tear in that market, signing Consolidated Communications (Mattoon, IL), Design Wizards (Bismarck, ND) and FTD (the florists) in the last 90 days.

The need for speed is just one of the compelling reasons why these publishers selected Miles 33’s Directory Pagination software.  “We have created a unique balance between automatic (batch) pagination, and interactive (drag & drop any ad) pagination”, said Don Sullivan, VP of Sales and Marketing for Miles 33. “This balance yields production volumes in excess of 200-300 finished pages per hour. And by finished, I mean the book looks exactly like the product you envisioned”.

Couple this with their award winning Ad Management system that is now installed in newspapers and yellow page customers around the world, and Miles is creating real value for its customer’s print and on-line products.

Serving markets in Illinois, Texas and Pennsylvania, Consolidated Communications went live with their Miles 33 Pagination System in May of this year. They are the 13th largest independent local telephone company in the nation. Directory publishing is one of a number of business services that compliment their core telephone business. “By bringing our book production in-house we are positioning the company to increase our directory publishing business as well as reduce costs and significantly extend our sales deadlines”, said Terry Walsh, Operations Manager for Consolidated.

Design Wizards, located in Bismarck North Dakota, provides production services to the telephone directory publishing industry, including book production, pagination, online directories, ad building, lead generation, contract entry, and conversions. “We work with many publishers across the country with many different designs and found the Miles 33 System to be a seamless addition to our existing customized directory production software”, said Bob Vander Vorst, President of Design Wizards, “the Miles 33 system is already showing benefits as a fast and highly dynamic system to meet our customer’s needs, and we have only been live for a couple of months”.  Vander Vorst added, “It is our mission to remain industry leaders in the telephone directory production field.”  “The Miles 33 System will allow us to save valuable time by shortening the gap between sales close and delivery for our clients.”

FTD, the well known florist and gift marketplace, publishes large directories for its member companies. FTD will be using the Miles 33 Directory Pagination to automate the process of producing these books in-house for the first time; their previous workflow included outsourcing book production. When the new in-house Miles 33 system goes live this fall the company anticipates significant cost savings, greater flexibility with regard to design and innovation within the books, and later sales deadlines.

And finally, Local Insight Media (LIM) publishes yellow page directories across 42 states, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. They are responsible for 900 directory titles, eight major Internet Yellow Pages sites and multiple complementary local search options. The Miles 33 Directory system was installed and brought live this past winter. As you can imagine, with 900 books in print the requirement for speed, flexibility and consistency is paramount for LIM. The Miles 33 system is meeting those needs and new books are being brought on line each month. LIM expects to be fully operational by the end of the year.
