August 2017, Bracknell, UK – Miles 33 is pleased to announce that the North Wales-based NWN Media Group has gone live with their new WebCMS and upgraded Business Directory.
Previously, NWN Media had completed Phase 1, a new GN4 Editorial Content Management system which replaced an aging QuarkXpress-based system. The installation of GN4 was supplied with an integral DAM that put multi-media assets at the fingertips of Sub-Editors, laying the foundation for a multi-channel publishing workflow.
This second phase of the implementation was all about adding responsive behaviour to their multiple websites and business directory while implementing an editorial workflow that integrates the GN4 system. Thanks to the fully integrated WebCMS, the content management activities are now extended out to the websites. Any GN4 user with the requisite permissions can publish to the web and social media channels from anywhere that they have an internet connection. The new webCMS manages a total of 10 responsive websites covering the NWN Media publishing region.
Also part of this phase was the update of their successful Business Directory, originally developed by NWN Media. The update is now based on Wave 2’s Marketplace solution, which adds full responsive behaviour to the Directory. This significantly enhances the user experience for mobile users who might access the directory using their smartphones and tablets.
Mike Moore, CEO of Miles 33 said: “the acquisition of Wave2 Media Solutions enabled us to integrate some of their core products to enhance the solutions already offered by Miles 33. The Wave2 Classified Marketplace can now support a Business Directory format as well as the classified sales site. Future options for Business Directory users will be support for multi media advertising using the Wave2 Rich Media Engine”
Gary York, Digital Manager at NWN Media said: “an integrated solution that combines our print and digital products allows us to be more responsive and enables us meet the requirements of our readers that have become used to receiving their news on mobile devices anywhere at any time of the day”.
Based in North Wales, NWN Media publishes a portfolio of daily and weekly publications across North and Mid Wales, Shropshire and Cheshire and a series of up to the minute, interactive websites.
Combined, the group reaches an audience of almost a million people every week.
Included within the group's portfolio is the oldest weekly newspaper in Wales and some of the newest, technology–driven websites in the UK.
