April 2013, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Miles 33 is proud to announce that FOCUS MALAYSIA, a new business newspaper, has gone live with the GN4 Content Management System suite from Miles 33.
The system order was concluded in mid October 2012 in preparation for the December 7 launch of the publication. The new publication is now fully live and the system includes an archive module, a website and an off-site backup and disaster recovery system. Another website is in the works and is slated for launch later this year.
When HCK Media went on a search for a content management system, they knew the launch of a new publication would demand the lion’s share of their attention. Selecting a system that could be implemented quickly and successfully was essential. They selected the GN4 content management system suite which includes newsroom, workflow, editing, pagination, archiving and extensive multi-media functionality. True to form, the system was implemented within 7 weeks, ready for a successful launch of the new newspaper.
Mr. Chong Cheng Hai, FOCUS MALAYSIA’s Chief Editor, said “Of all the proposals we received for an Editorial Workflow solution, we were the most comfortable with the proposal from Miles 33, based on the suitability for our needs, the ease and speed of implementation, the ability to integrate with our plans for online extensions and the cost of the solution and the necessary hardware requirements”.
The GN4 system provides plugins to Adobe’s InDesign CS6 application, which is used for pagination. A special “connector” links the GN4 content management system, used by the newsroom, to the open source Drupal webCMS allowing editorial staff to author, select and publish content directly from the GN4 system. Archiving is provided with the TARK4 module of the GN4 suite and provides full text indexing, search and retrieval functions, both through the TED editing client, used in-house, as well as through standard browsers, thus allowing access from anywhere.
