GMG Regional Media Purchases Workflow Solution
April 30, 2009

London, UK (April 30th 2009) - GMG Regional Media publishers of the Manchester Evening News have agreed a deal with Miles 33 to implement Workflow, their new Media Neutral Content Management Editorial solution across all of its businesses in the North of England by the end of the summer 2009.

GMG Regional Media, part of Guardian Media Group, has ordered the Miles 33 Workflow Media Neutral Editorial Solution as part of its drive to deliver news in Multi-Channel format to its Web sites, TV Station and both daily and weekly printed publications. GMG Regional Media publishes one of the leading regional titles in the UK namely The Manchester Evening News, alongside 16 paid-for weekly newspapers, 18 free newspapers, 62 websites, and Channel M television for Manchester.

GMG Regional Media formed a cross functional steering group to drive their system selection process and after reviewing a number of potential solutions the Miles 33 system was selected because of its dynamic user interface, its write once but publish many capabilities and its media agnostic approach to both content capture and delivery.

Commenting on the decision, Alex Davies CIO of GMG Regional Media said "This project represents a major step forward for the Division, and will lead to significant improvements in our ability to collect and deliver content from many media sources. Today we have ten disparate systems that are very print centric ranging from two different generations of Miles 33 products to a CCI solution within the Manchester Evening News; the new single enterprise solution from Miles 33 that will replace these systems will enable our editorial teams to create and publish content in a variety of ways with varying workflows independently of the origination or final destination of the story."

Michael Moore, Chief Executive at Miles 33 added "It is clear that GMG Regional Media understands the value of a complete Media Neutral Content Management System that has been designed and built from the beginning as a true Media Agnostic solution. We are thrilled that GMG Regional Media are the first major Publisher to adopt the new

Miles 33 Workflow product. GMGs progressive and forward thinking approach has led to the selection of a system designed to be media neutral from its inception rather than having been evolved from older print centric legacy products provided by many of our competitors today. I am convinced that together GMG and Miles 33 will have one of the showcase Editorial departments within the regional media marketplace delivering content in a Multi-channel environment."
