We all know that digital ad spending is growing rapidly, enjoying double digit numbers.

In a recent study, eMarketer, a company that engages in analysis on digital marketing, looked at statistics from BIA/Kelsey's Annual US Local Media Forecast 2011-2016" and published the following chart for local advertising.

Imagine you are miles away from the newsroom and happen to witness some amazing event. You are the first on the scene where you whip out your iPhone and capture the event on video. You snap a few pictures for good measure and record an interview with an eyewitness, then add some comments yourself, reporting what just went down.

Miles 33 adds InDesign and Photoshop plugins to the GN4 suite

New plugins have been added to the GN4 suite of applications enabling users of Adobe’s InDesign and Photoshop applications to interact directly with the GN4 content management system. Also bundled with these plugins are two InDesign productivity tools, one for advanced ruling and another for sophisticated vertical justification and multi-column balancing.

The term SaaS is a hot topic these days mainly due to the increase offerings of cloud-based solutions. Some of the most hotly discussed, or at least most recognizable offerings out there, include Apple’s recently announced iCloud, Google Docs, Windows Live, Acrobat.com and of course SalesForce.com.

Imagine you are working for a successful publication, but the group that owns you runs into financial trouble and you have the opportunity to do a management buyout. You do so, but need a content management system to continue to produce the paper. Funds are limited, especially under these conditions, but you learn about a hosted solution that offers you everything you need and is charged on a per month, per user basis. Would you take it?

This was the situation that Sardegna Quotidiano, a brand new paper in Cagliari on the island of Sardinia,  found themselves in.
