Beacon Ad Planning Overview

Beacon provides both classified pagination and display ad layout functions.

Running in the PC-Windows environment, Beacon provides page planners with a means to interrogate the advertisements booking database and allows the maximum flexibility to ensure fast, interactive pagination for any size or style of editorial or classified page.

Finished pages are viewed in standard QuarkXPress or InDesign format.

Beacon can plan publications with any number of editions and zones, each having common or unique multiple sections. These are referred to as products for planning and have profiles and templates assigned to them. A product can consist of multiple signatures and sections.

Templates describe the various press configurations available for each product. The method of configuring products is made easy by using a simple drag and drop tree structure.

Beacon automates the process of page numbering and running heads for each page, and allows reserved areas for standing matter and editorial items with facilities to easily change the size of the publication.
